Urban Sports Initiative - "Urban Baseball Classic"

Thoughts By: B. Brown

On Monday, July 23, 2012, I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Ceremony of the "Urban Baseball Classic" held at the Atlanta Braves Baseball Academy (1600 Pryor Rd., Atlanta, GA)!!!

Let me first say thank you to Julia Jones, Andre' Payne and Wally Boyett for inviting me!

It was an awesome sight to see teams from across the country here in Atlanta, GA playing baseball at a high level, receiving academic and cultural exposure at the same time. I have never seen a Youthe Baseball Tournament encompass a Mission of this nature:

1) Showcase athletic events and innovative cultural programs.

2) Educational programs that stimulate growth.

3) Career development opportunities on the Business side of Sports.

I look forward to witnessing the growth of the Urban Sports Initiative and its positive impact upon the youth and their parents participating in their tournaments!!!

Visit their website at http://www.urbansi.org

Let us all play ball with URBAN SPORTS INITIATIVE!!!
